Web playback
After you enable effects, Song Slower processes the audio output of the selected tab on your device. It changes the speed of that page's audio/video players and adds reverb. It does not record or upload the tab audio, read your browsing history, or process other tabs. Stop restores the players' original speed and pitch-preservation settings. Navigating or closing the tab ends the effects session.
Local file editor
Files you choose and the demo are decoded and processed in memory on your device. Audio and filenames are not stored by the extension. Downloaded exports are saved where you choose. The editor stores recent sound settings and any presets you explicitly save in this extension's local browser storage; these settings are separate from the website's settings. Clear extension data or uninstall to remove them.
No analytics in the extension
The extension contains no analytics, advertising or remote executable code. All scripts, fonts and audio processing libraries are packaged with it. The local file editor works offline. Opening an external support or website link connects to that site, which has its own privacy policy.
Permissions
activeTab and scripting allow changes to the media player on the page where you invoke the extension. tabCapture supplies that tab's audio for local reverb. offscreen keeps processing and playback running after the popup closes. The extension requests no microphone, camera, browsing-history or access-to-all-sites permission.
